Being featured on national television is always special — but some moments feel truly surreal. One such milestone for us at The Little Farm Co. was when our co-founder, Niharika Bhargava, went live on Doordarshan Kisaan to speak about a cause deeply close to our hearts — women in agriculture.
The discussion went beyond just business. It focused on the real challenges faced by women farmers, the role of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) in enabling financial independence, and how media platforms can play a powerful role in amplifying rural voices.
At The Little Farm Co., our journey has always been rooted in working closely with farmers at the grassroots level. Over time, this has given us a deeper, first-hand understanding of the realities they navigate every day — from limited access to markets and resources to the lack of recognition for their contributions.
One thought that stood out during the conversation continues to resonate with us:
“Mahilaon ko sirf celebrate nahi, support karna zaroori hai.”
This belief lies at the core of what we do. Beyond creating products, we are committed to building a system where women farmers are not just acknowledged, but actively supported and empowered through meaningful opportunities.
Being part of this dialogue on a national platform like Doordarshan Kisaan was not just an achievement — it was a responsibility. A reminder that the stories of rural India deserve to be heard, understood, and acted upon.
We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to conversations around women in agriculture, rural leadership, and grassroots impact, and we remain committed to driving real change — from the ground up.
